Christian is the Managing Partner of Fragomen’s Detroit, Michigan office. In addition to overseeing the operations of the firm’s presence in the Motor City, he chairs our firm’s Automotive Industry Practice Group, which is comprised of attorneys and immigration professionals throughout the world with automotive clients. Christian is central to developing Fragomen’s top-down strategic approach to the automotive industry.

Christian and his team possess a deep familiarity with the challenges facing the automobile sector and a deft touch for devising creative responses to them. Together, they structure comprehensive immigration programs, track and gather industry intelligence and work closely with consulates and other authorities to achieve results for their clients. His work includes:

  • From a U.S. immigration perspective, helping automotive industry clients devise effective compliance plans to respond to and be prepared for unionization efforts and labor actions, including the 2023 strike against the big three automakers. In addition to representing his own automaker and supplier clients, Christian coordinates the efforts of Fragomen attorneys and teams who represent the sector across jurisdictions, helping them gather, share and develop immigration data related to labor actions.
  • Partnering with automakers as they respond to the advent of electric and autonomous vehicle technology. These new technologies demand a creative and flexible use of foreign talent and knowledge by the auto industry; Christian spearheaded innovative responses, including the use of national interest waivers to facilitate successful green card applications.

Clients value Christian for his diligence, responsiveness and personal care. He strives to put the entire service offering of Fragomen at their disposal and to coordinate with leaders across the firm to provide tailored, effective solutions.

Fragomen is a firm of more than 5,500 immigration-focused professionals and staff spanning more than 70 offices worldwide. Immigration has been its focus for 75 years, and today the firm offers support in more than 170 countries. It is a team of problem-solvers, innovators and established thought leaders in immigration, and is recognized year after year by Chambers, Best Lawyers and Who’s Who. The firm contributes to conferences and seminars around the world, gathers vast amounts of immigration data and leverages it for clients, authors respected publications, and continually works to shape the future of the industry. As immigration becomes increasingly complex globally, Fragomen draws on the extensive experience of its professionals, including those who have worked in government agencies and in-house corporate immigration departments, to deliver world-class, compliant immigration solutions.

Established in 1951, Fragomen has grown from a respected domestic U.S. immigration law practice into a truly global organization. Its expansion has been driven by a strategic decision to establish offices in key markets where clients benefit from an on-the-ground presence. The firm aims to maintain its position as the largest and leading immigration services provider by continuing to extend its service capabilities and global footprint in response to evolving client needs and market demands.

No matter where clients are located, where they are headed or how their immigration needs evolve over time, Fragomen provides a place for them as clients of the firm. Whether seeking immigration-related strategic planning, efficiency, quality management, compliance, government relations, reporting, or case management and processing, clients can rely on Fragomen as a strategic immigration partner.

“Christian is widely respected for his sophisticated and solutions-driven approach to corporate immigration. Clients commend his ability to anticipate industry shifts and implement effective strategies, while peers recognize his leadership in developing coordinated, cross-border responses for major automotive clients.”
