Ms. Crone has handled immigration matters for Fraser Stryker since 2004, focusing on business-related immigration issues, including immigrant and nonimmigrant employment-based visa petitions both for-profit and not-for-profit employers in many different fields, including architecture, engineering, information technology, scientific research, and accounting, among others. Ms. Crone has carried out I-9 audits and regularly reviews I-9 identity and employment eligibility documentation for clients, as well as addresses concerns regarding the I-9 and E-Verify processes and compliance procedures, and has presented to human resources professionals on I-9, E-Verify, and immigration matters.
While Ms. Crone’s practice now focuses on business immigration, she has practiced in the area of health care including Medicare and Medicaid issues, such as addressing physician prohibition of self-referral (Stark) and anti-kickback statutes, of licensing, peer review, and HIPAA compliance, as well as in business & corporate law including corporate formation, corporate compliance and governance issues, and drafting various types of agreements for both small and large and profit and non-profit entities.
Ms. Crone earned a Juris Doctor, with high distinction, from the University of Nebraska in 2003 and was awarded membership in the Order of the Coif. While at the University of Nebraska, she was an Executive Editor of the Nebraska Law Review. Ms. Crone received her Bachelor of Arts in English, magna cum laude, from Boston College in 1994. During her time at Boston College, Ms. Crone was awarded membership in the Order of the Cross and Crown in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and distinguished service.
Fraser Stryker’s immigration practice focuses on employment-based immigration, providing comprehensive services to assist employers and their employees in obtaining temporary work authorization and lawful permanent residency, as well as services focused on employment eligibility verification and compliance and immigration-related employment discrimination matters.
Fraser Stryker specializes in H-1B nonimmigrant petitions and employment-based permanent residency petitions requiring labor certification applications (PERM) in the second and third preference categories (EB-2 and EB-3). Fraser Stryker also has extensive experience in TN petitions, as well as employment-based permanent residency petitions not requiring labor certification in the first preference category (EB-1) and Form I-9 compliance.
H-1B Nonimmigrant Services
Fraser Stryker provides H-1B services to employers ranging from large international companies with thousands of employees throughout the world, to small, local companies with 10 or fewer employees, including both for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations, and including both cap-subject and cap-exempt employers.
TN Non-immigrant Services
Fraser Stryker also provides TN services to both large and small employers for employees eligible for TN status under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Fraser Stryker’s TN experience includes services for both Canadian and Mexican citizens, and includes filing change of status and extension of stay petitions for individuals already present in the US, as well as services for Canadian citizens making application for TN status at a Port of Entry.
Other Nonimmigrant Services
Fraser Stryker has advised clients on several other types of nonimmigrant visas, including B-1/B-2 (Business/Visitor) visas, L (Intra-Company Transfers) visas, and E-3 (Australian Specialty Occupation) visas, and can provide these services as needed.
Employment Eligibility Verification/Work Authorization Compliance
Fraser Stryker has advised employers on the legal requirements for employment authorization within the United States, including not only advice on employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas, but also obligations under state and federal law to verify identity and document employment eligibility authorization. We have conducted Form I-9 audits required pursuant to contractual obligations, aided in employer self-audits, and regularly advise employers regarding Form I-9 procedures and documents, as well as E-Verify participation and requirements.
